In the tradition of the longpoem, The Tale of Tekarionyoken purports to tell the story of the ascent of the Hudson River, the arrival in Fort Orange and the passage westward to the foot of the Helderbergs in the early eighteenth century of a band of Dutch settlers on the then not so distant western frontier of upstate New York. Don’t believe a word of it.
